Follow-ups and some evaluations can be done by video. Ask when you schedule.

Our internships are hands-on, not shadowing: you'll work directly with providers, patients and staff. Undergraduate and gap-year students can apply for Spring, Fall or Summer, and every position includes direct patient interaction.
Selected interns receive a detailed packet outlining our expectations. In brief, during your internship you are expected to:
Familiarizing yourself with the patient handouts will benefit you greatly. Our most common cases are concussion and TBI, followed by pediatric overuse injuries, pediatric fractures and a variety of other musculoskeletal injuries. The readings under "Required Readings" and "Suggested Resources" are designed for resident and medical student rotations — not required for undergraduate and high school students, but a good introduction to the cases we see.
SPARCC is a premier academic center dedicated to advancing research across a range of disciplines, with a particular focus on the evaluation and treatment of concussions. Our mission is to deepen understanding and improve care through innovative, evidence-based approaches.
